Bedbug Free at Occupy Wall Street

So you want to protest corporate greed, but you don’t want to get bed bugs. Understandable. Here are some tips to make sure you don’t become the occupied:

  • Try not to use the sleeping bags donated and shared at the site of the protests.
  • Try to do without a mattress. Use some cardboard or a crashpad.
  • Don’t waste your money on magical anti-bedbug sprays. They are bogus.
  • Keep your bags wrapped in plastic.
  • Wrap electronics and everything else that cannot be heated above 120 degrees F in Ziplock bags.
  • Assume you have bedbugs when returning home from the protests. Strip down and put everything in a plastic bag. Throw everything in the dryer – prior to washing.
